A stone hit her in the head."I Chose this quote because it is not until now that you know exactly what is going to happen to the person chosen in this lottery. Shortly before this you get the feeling that the lottery may be something undesirable yet it is not stated and for the majority of the story it is unknown what the lottery determines.
That is exactly where I picked up that the story was't going where I thought it was. Very interesting and unusual writing style for sure!

Yes. I totally agree with you on that. You know that something might be different about the lottery, but it isn't really confirmed until Tessie makes such a deal about it. It makes you go, hey wait a minute here.
